Dr. Jerasorn Santisirisomboon

Assistant Professor

RU-CORE, Ramkhamhaeng University

Dr. Jerasorn received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology, Thammasat University, Thailand. He started his research career in the field of energy demand and supply modeling, as well as greenhouse gas mitigation in the energy sector. After 10 years in these research areas, he has devoted his interest to climate science for more than 20 years. He has worked on both statistical and dynamical downscaling of General Circulation Models, as well as future climate change and extreme events projection projects funded by local government organizations and agencies—including the Thailand Research Fund (TRF), the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT), and the Department of Climate Change and Environment (DCCE)—as well as international bodies like the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN). He has been involved in the Coordinated Regional Climate Downscaling Experiment (CORDEX) alongside leading researchers in the Southeast Asia region, and at present, he serves as the co-chair of CORDEX Southeast Asia. He has also broadened his research to cover climate change impacts, adaptation, and vulnerability, and has recently developed risk maps under future climate change scenarios in Thailand.
