Getting to The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
From the Airport
The most convenient way to reach the university from the airport is by taxi, which costs approximately HK$350 (around US$45). Please note that some of the taxis in Hong Kong accept Hong Kong dollars only, so it’s advisable to exchange currency in advance.
Alternatively, you can take the Airport Express train to downtown Hong Kong for HK$115 (about US$15) per person. The university is easily accessible from the city via public transportation.
Between the University and Downtown
Public transport in Hong Kong is very efficient, and getting to the University is easy, whether by taxi, or subway train ("MTR") plus a bus. The nearest subway stations to the University are found at Hang Hau (坑口) and Choi Hung (彩虹). From Hang Hau, you can reach the University using buses, 91M, 11, 11M or 11S. From Choi Hung, you can reach the University using buses 91, 91M, 11 or 11S. A taxi from Hang Hau to the University costs around HK$50 and from Choi Hung, a taxi costs around HK$100.
