Currently the Director of the Hong Kong Observatory, Dr CM Cheng has been specializing in weather forecasting, weather radar and satellite meteorology, aerodrome meteorological observing system, and TV weather presentation, etc. He has also been overseeing the development of the Observatory’s website and “MyObservatory” mobile app. He is the present chairman of the Hong Kong Meteorological Society. Internationally, he has been the vice-chair of the Asia/Pacific Meteorology Sub-Group under the International Civil Aviation Organization. He is currently the Permanent Representative of Hong Kong, China with the UN World Meteorological Organization.
